10 DIY hacks for a new house

No matter how perfect a house or space is, there is still some scope for improvement. Perhaps you can do something better about the storage space or get things organised in a better way, or simply upgrade a corner. 1. Change the closet doors- You can get rid of those plain closet doors and get some designer look that enhances the aesthetics of the room. You could use new shades of wood or work with some fabric to create a completely new look on your own.
   
   
2. Replace those carpets- Go ahead and browse local flea markets or order some cheap carpets online. You will be amazed at the refreshing change a new carpet can add to any room. Look for designs and colours that complement the room.
   
   
3. Add some greenery- Check out if you have a green thumb and spend some time gardening to work on indoor plants for your new house. You could easily grow new plants from old cuttings or simply buy some from the local nursery.
   
   
4. Upgrade the lampshades- If you are tired of looking at the same lampshades, the look, and the colour, why not replace them? You can easily get some handmade decorative paper or fabrics to create a bespoke lamp topper and make your own designs.
   
   
5. Create your own wall art- If you think you are good with art and creativity, why not create some wall art and make those walls look unique? With just some paper and colours, you can create whatever you like and personalize those walls.
   
   
6. Make some candles- Nothing could be more soothing so see customized candles with classic scents like fresh cotton and cherry blossom, light up the room. There are plenty of options available in the market with pre-mixed bases.
   
   
7. Do some shelving- There is never enough space for storage, and it is a good idea to create your own shelves. In fact, this is one of the easiest and most useful DIYs hacks for your new house. So, if you cannot find a shelf with specific needs or dimensions, you can always go ahead and make your own.
   
   
8. Change those curtains- Take out your sewing machine and make new curtains for your room. Get a fabric of your choice and give new window treatments.  If you think that you do not have any seamstress skills, you can simply use double-stick fabric tape.
   
   
9. Highlight a wall- Use some paint to highlight a wall to add some contrast or simply change the focus of the room. Just make sure that the colours are right and enhance the space of the room.
