5 Easy to wear 2018 SS fashion trends

5 Easy to wear 2018 SS fashion trends: Denim

Sometimes fashion trends can be beautiful but not very practical for an average day at work or out on the town. Incorporating a few easy to wear items is the way to go! Check out these 5 trends for Spring Summer 2018 which can easily be added to your everyday wardrobe.

Pretty Pastels

Who doesn’t love pastels for Spring? The delicious ice cream shades are perfect for reflecting our longing for lazy days in the sun to come. This season the gelato hues come with a bit of a twist; head to toe! We saw head-to-toe lilac at Victoria Beckham, creamy lemon layers at Hermès and tiers upon tiers of pistachio green at Sies Marjan on the catwalks so don’t be afraid to go all in!

You might think that this would be a hard one to pull off but simply pick out all your garments in pale hues from yellow, to purple, green to pink hiding away at the back of your wardrobe from last Summer and layer them up for a fantastic on-trend look. Of course, if you’re not feeling that brave you could always grab a lovely pastel blazer to slip over your workwear for a hint of the trend.

Plastic

According to Barbie life in plastic is fantastic but I have to admit that the plastic trend is not one that I personally am that keen on (thanks, Raf Simons at Calvin Klein) but it is one that can be easy to wear. Valentino, Chanel, and Calvin Klein had plastic fantastic pieces on show on the catwalks for this season.

You can find the trendy wipe-clean fabric in trench coats, knee-high and calf boots and dresses which might just be perfect for our British Spring weather! Valentino‘s plastic biker jacket is set to be everyone’s secret wish for the season but if you’re looking for something a bit more affordable pick up a clear plastic coat or cape for an easy to wear option.

Dressed up Shoes

Just because party season has been and gone doesn’t mean that we can’t add some sparkle to our outfits! The catwalks saw plenty of glitter and jewels to add bling to Spring Summer 2018. Dolce & Gabbana’s feminine designs had an opulent twist with many bejewelled accessories in their show with their variety of colourful heels being no exception.

Delicate season appropriate sandals from Etro in silver shades were adorned with clusters of jewels in a very wearable style. We saw the Jimmy Choo collection designed by Sandra Choi featuring clusters of colourful, delicate gems on straps and even at the heel. If you’re not brave to go full on glitz why not find a pair of calf boots with a little sparkle for an easy office to bar look? For more choice in women’s calf boots, click this link here.

Bag Lady

Good news, if you’re the sort who can usually be found with both a handbag and a tote you’re going to be on trend this season. A number of designers showcased models styled with multiple bags at once including Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana and Gucci making it acceptable to be seen with an armful of straps!

Fendi’s multi-pouch bag has been a hit; a single, primary leather handbag with multiple pouches attached to a long handle giving you plenty of space for everything you need to take with you. Taking multiple bags out with you at one time means you can hit a bunch of bag trends in one go, try mixing and matching with fringe, punk backpacks and purses, solid backpacks and purses and triangular hobo bags.

Denim and more Denim

Denim seems to always be in style from light to dark, jeans to shirts, and this season is no different. Tom Ford, Versus and Nina Ricci all incorporated deepest-indigo selvedge denim into their shows which was last seen in 2000. We saw jean jackets and button-up shirts paired with both longer jean skirts, and with trousers in all kinds of sophisticated cuts.

Try and pick out a few tailored denim pieces for an easy way to follow this trend or go all out head to toe in denim! We saw this at Elizabeth and James who featured denim boots, at  A.P.C. and Oscar de la Renta whose blue jeans and denim skirt were paint-stained. At Alexander McQueen and Y/Project we saw denim jackets deconstructed to create an eye-catching look.
