Review: EcoPanda Bamboo Make up Remover Pads

I used to be a cleansing face wipe addict. I would use them every day and not think about their impact on the environment at all – just toss them into the bin. These days I am more enlightened and although my need for face cleansing hasn’t gone away I am proud to say the face wipes have.

These days I try and use re-useable products in my skincare regime, usually using a microfibre cloth to remove makeup and cleanse my skin along with cleanser products. However, I have found sometimes the microfibre cloths can leave my skin dry and for someone with dry/sensitive skin, this can be unpleasant.

Recently I was given the chance to test out EcoPanda Bamboo Make-Up Remover Pads – I had never considered looking into a reusable cotton-pad style product for cleansing and I am really glad that I have tried them out.

More than 4.9 billion plastic products are thrown away every year, ending up in our oceans and landfills. These make-up remover pads are made from bamboo making them 100% biodegradable and compostable, unlike traditional wipes which contain plastic and can take up to 500 years to decompose.

EcoPanda’s 8cm diameter make-up remover pads are made from a double layer of 100% organic bamboo cotton and are suitable for all skin types, whether sensitive, dry or oily skin. They are Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified meaning that they contain no harmful substances.

Using the pads is a positive experience; I simply apply my favourite cleanser to my face and use the pad to gently sweep across my face to remove dirt and make-up. Rather than leaving my skin a little sore the bamboo cotton is soft and soothing for which I am grateful. I have had no problem removing foundation and eye make-up using the pads.

Not only are these pads better for the environment but as they are reusable they are kind on the wallet too. Simply pop into your washing machine in their handy laundry bag in a wash up to 60 degrees, dry and then reuse.
