Review: Electric Tobacconist Vaping E-liquids
Despite having given up smoking a few years ago my husband has been known to sneak the odd cigarette in times of stress which led me to recommend he try vaping as an alternative nicotine fix without the harmful chemicals found in cigarettes. He has been vaping for a month or so now and has not smoked a real cigarette since receiving his first vaping kit, so when Electric Tobacconist got in touch asking for an honest review of some of their e-liquids he was happy to give them ago.
The Electric Tobacconist is an online e-liquid & e-cigarette retailer which launched in 2013 with the mission to offer everything under one ‘roof’ at competitive best prices. They strive to offer new products every week whether that be a new e-liquid flavour or the new, latest vaping device to keep vapers on their toes! The Electric Tobacconist sells all the major UK e-cigarette and e-liquid brands with a price match guarantee
My husband chose three e-liquids from the Electric Tobacconist range, two from the Captain’s Reserve range and one from the Hoxton range to test. He focused on choosing the e-liquids based on the flavour profiles and nicotine levels (he vapes 6mg).
Polly’s plunder: Polly’s Plunder, from the Captain’s Reserve range, was by far my husband’s favourite with a mix of exotic and tropical fruits including dragon fruit and tangerine topped off with cream. It is available in 0mg, 3mg, 6mg, 12mg or 18mg nicotine level. Vlad really loves this e-liquid commenting that he finds the flavour of the citrus refreshing and the cream gives it a well rounded flavour which is particularly enjoyable and moreish. He awards Polly’s Plunder 5 out of 5 stars.
Traitor: Another e-liquid from Captain’s Reserve, Traitor, features the flavour of apples and maple syrup described as a slow baked apple pie juice flavour with a maple syrup base. As my husband usually likes to vape after diner this makes for the perfect ‘pudding’ e-liquid. Again this is available in 0mg, 3mg, 6mg, 12mg or 18mg nicotine level. Vlad also has enjoyed this e-liquid finding the flavour pleasant and harsher than Polly’s Plunder which means you don’t get through it as fast. He awards Traitor 4 out of 5 stars.
Hoxton Black Cherry: Available in high, medium or low nicotine levels the Hoxton Black Cherry is exclusive to The Electric Tobacconist and boasts a rich, luxurious flavour of sweet and sour cherries. If you like cherry then this is the e-liquid for you. Vlad awards this e-liquid 3 out of 5 stars.
All three of these e-liquids have a good PG/VG ratio which makes for satisfying clouds of vapour with the Captain’s Reserve range 50/50 which would work very well in either a cheaper clearomizer as well as an expensive sub-ohm kit. The Hoxton Black Cherry has a ratio of 70/30 which makes it perfect for affordable e-cigarette options.
