Review: Lean Greens Super Greens Powder
Recently I have developed much more of an interest in nutrition, in fact, I am studying an Advanced Diploma in Nutrition and Weight Loss at the moment in the hopes of educating myself and potentially helping others so when I was offered the chance to check out the powders and supplements from Lean Greens I was happy to get involved.
Lean Greens is a small, family run UK business that sells greens powders and gluten-free protein to health-conscious people that are tired of poor tasting healthy stuff. Lean Green’s mantra is “tastes good, does good” and with this as their war cry they have created a range of products including their signature product, a super greens drink, bucking the trend of awful tasting greens. Ultimately, if the drink tastes bad you’re never going to work yourself up to drinking it regularly!
They boast having an unconventional approach to an industry that’s stuck in its ways and offer products that only contain ingredients that make a difference to health with a dosage and potency of the raw ingredients for the maximum effect. Lean Greens are proud to be a small, independent company with a focus on detail and relationships with their customers.
Super Greens Powder
This is the Lean Green’s signature product, a green powder with all the benefits and nutrients found in its ingredients without that unpalatable taste anyone who’s ever tried to make an enjoyable green smoothie and failed will know. The active ingredients include Wheatgrass, Barley Grass, Spirulina, Chlorella, Alfalfa, Spinach, Broccoli, Carrot, Blackcurrant, Blueberry, Green Tea Extract, Siberian Ginseng, Stevia Leaf and a digestive enzyme blend.
The Super Greens Powder has been designed to reduce cravings and bloating, to optimise digestive health and offer a natural energy boost. This product uses a blend of alkalising ingredients and digestive enzymes to cleanse the gut and flushes out toxins which may cause bloating and the Siberian Ginseng and Greens Tea Extract offer a natural pick me up.
So, how have I got on with the Super Greens Powder? On opening the bottle you will find a very fine, light powder with a fragrance which reminds me of matcha, which must come from with green tea extract. Preparing the drink is super easy, just mix 250ml of cold water with a slightly heaped scoop of Lean Greens and shake vigorously for 15 seconds. Tah-Dah! I found that the Smart Shaker is perfect for making a smooth drink with no off-putting lumpy bits.
I was not surprised to discover that it also tastes like a mild matcha tea and has a slight sweetness which must come from the fruit and stevia. With ingredients like wheatgrass, you’d be forgiven for thinking that the Super Greens powder would taste very strongly of that typical grassy flavour but I have been delighted to discover that it has a pleasant, fragrant flavour nothing like the overpowering bitter punch you can get from green drinks.
As for results, I think it’s a little soon to tell but with a blend of powerful nutrients and energy boosting ingredients, I am sure I will feel the benefits soon. I would certainly recommend the Super Greens Powder to anyone who struggles to get enough greens in their diet or to those looking for a natural pick me up and award it 5 out of 5 stars for being a tasty option for boosted nutrition.
