Review: Natural Skincare from Tea & Tonic
If you’ve spent any time at all on my blog you will know that I love writing about new skincare brands and products which I have discovered. Today is no different! I am going to tell you a little bit about Tea & Tonic, a 100% natural skincare and wellness brand that helps you to discover the secrets to your brightest skin and self.
Tea & Tonic describe themselves as the location for luxury beauty products with an array of exceptional and beautiful ingredients all sustainably sourced. They source mindfully and meticulously to create extraordinary blends which are cruelty free and the majority of their produces are vegan.
This brand has an approach to skincare and wellness that I really love. They aim to be the best they can, to continually improve, being honest and transparent at every step.
The environment is front and centre with Tea & Tonic, they source with sustainability in mind from quality, freshness and mileage to the environmental production methods required, using British-grown active botanicals sourced only from sustainable growers.
Tea & Tonic avoid mass production and create their skincare products meticulously by hand using traditional methods. This may take longer but produces an exceptional end result with their range being free from:
- Synthetics
- Silicones, Petroleum or Mineral Oils
- Sulphates (i.e. SLS / SLES)
- Parabens
- PEG (i.e. Polyethylene Glycol, Polysorbate)
- Phenoxyethanol
- Phthalates
So, why am I telling you about this lovely brand? I was lucky enough to have been offered the chance to review a couple of their products. My skin is generally dry and sensitive so when I choose skincare products I really keep this in mind.
My skin loves a gentle cleansers and a good ‘drink’ so I decided to try the Meadow’s Secret Cleansing Balm and the Saving Grace Rich Face Oil. When they arrived I was pleasantly surprised that Tea & Tonic had popped in a few lovely wellness teas which I could enjoy while pampering!
Saving Grace Rich Face Oil
As I mentioned my skin is usually dry and really soaks up any sort of moisturising product I might use. My skin particularly loves a good face oil, and the Saving Grace tonic is described as offering comfort and restoration for smooth, supple, comforted skin. Suitable for all skin types.
The Saving Grace oil is high in nutrients and antioxidants including Vitamin C & E, Omega Fatty Acids, notably Gamma Linolenic Acid which promotes elasticity. It also includes Borage (Starflower) oil; Crambe Abyssinian and cold-pressed Camelina Oil which are all grown as part of the Bee Friendly project / RHS Plants for Pollinators which help local ecosystems by supporting a healthy Bee population.
I have to admit I am usually overly generous when applying oil because my skin just soaks it up but, it is recommended to apply 3-5 drops and gently press onto the face & neck. The oil has a very luxurious feel and fragrance and despite being generous I find that my face isn’t left feeling greasy but instead simply soft and glowing.
The Meadow’s Secret Cleansing Balm
I have to admit that I don’t cleanse my face as much as I should as I often find products are too harsh for my dry/sensitive skin. However, having read the description of the Meadow’s Secret cleansing balm, a nutrient-rich skincare remedy, I decided I wanted to give it a go.
The Meadow’s Secret cleansing balm features British meadow flower and seed oils, fortified with our adaptogen superherb complex hand blended in small batches for optimal freshness & potency.
The balm’s ingredients include Crambe Abyssinian Seed Oil which is grown as part of the Bee Friendly project / RHS Plants for Pollinators which help local ecosystems by supporting a healthy Bee population.
It is described as being excellent for dissolving make-up, excess oil and impurities whilst beautifully softening and promoting a supple, dewy-fresh, radiant complexion. Simply apply a small amount to dry skin and massage. Gently wipe away using a warm, moist face cloth.
I found the balm easy to use, no fuss. The scent is divine and leaves my skin super soft and hydrated which is really important for me.
I have really enjoyed using these products for the last couple of weeks and am happy to award Tea & Tonic 5 out of 5 stars not only for their lovely skincare range, but also for their eco-forward approach.
