Review: Nuud the anti-odorant

I have to admit that I often find myself frustrated with deodorants. Either they just don’t work at all or they work but are expensive, or they don’t last very long. I have tried a number of different products on the market and tend to just put up with their shortcomings. However, I was recently sent a tube of Nuud to as an alternative, to try out.

Nuud is described as an anti-odorant that is magically effective for 3-7 days. There is no aluminium, parabens, petrochemicals or any other vague chemicals, no salts and no cheap perfume used in their product. A massive bonus is that Nuud is cruelty-free, 100% vegan.

Not only is the product free of dodgy sounding chemicals which could cause your harm, but they have also really considered the environment too. There are no propellants or canisters used, instead, Nuud comes in a bioplastic tube made from sugarcane.

So, how does it work? Nuud prevents odour by neutralising bacteria with micro silver. It is described as being effective for 3-7 days, with a single application with being active or showering have no effect on the patented formula’s effectiveness.

I was sent a starter pack (£12.95) made up of a 15ml tube which should be enough for 6 weeks on average. You can also purchase a bigger pack (£24.95) which includes 2x20ml tubes which is enough for 20 weeks on average. There is also a subscription service so that you’ll automatically receive exactly the right amount of Nuud exactly when you need it.

To use Nuud to maximum effect apply a pea-sized amount (it is super concentrated) to each armpit after showering. Give it a few minutes to set before putting on your clothes to avoid getting messy. When it comes to reapplying everyone is different but the average seems to be every 3 days.

Be careful not to squeeze too much out of the tube at once, squeeze gently, you only need a small amount! Nuud has a satisfying thick texture which applies easily to the underarm.

I have found using Nuud a great alternative to other products I have tried in the past. I find that it lasts for 3-4 days when applied after a shower. Another bonus is that the product comes in a non-plastic tube which makes me happier than using products which come in tonnes of plastic.

Overall I have had a good experience with Nuud and would recommend it to anyone looking for an alternative to traditional deodorants. It’s long-lasting, cruelty-free and decent value for money. I award it 5 stars.
