Review: Science Diet Adult Advanced Fitness Dog Food

When it comes to food my labradors are not fussy – they would pretty much eat anything and by anything I really mean anything! Whilst on walks Lexi (the chocolate monster) has found and eaten pigeons, fish and eels. In the house, they enjoy pinching food from my kitchen counters, luckily this is usually fruit or veg that I left out accidentally.

However, being a responsible doggie owner means providing them with the nutrition they need to lead happy, healthy lives so when I was offered the chance to review Hill’s Science Diet Adult Advanced Fitness Dog Food I was excited to learn more about their product.

Hill’s mission is to help enrich and lengthen the special relationships between people and their pets. Their founder, Dr Mark Morris, Snr. believed that pet nutrition is vital to pets living long, healthy lives. You can learn more about the company on the Hill’s website.

I was surprised to learn that Hill’s employs more than 220 veterinarians, PhD. nutritionists and food scientists to create new products and improve existing ones. Guided by evidence-based research, Hill’s formulates its foods with a precise balance of these nutrients to meet the specific needs of pets associated with their life stage, size or special needs.

I was sent Hill’s Science Plan Canine Adult Advanced Fitness Large Breed Lamb with Rice to review. It is described as a precisely balanced dog food designed to support digestion and healthy joints for large breed dogs, like labradors.

This food is made with high-quality lamb, enhanced omega-3 and 6, for healthy skin and coat, antioxidants and L-carnitine, for optimal joint and muscle support which is especially important in bigger breeds.

On opening the sealed packaging the first thing to hit me was the meaty smell which immediately drew the attention of my pooches. I also noticed that the kibble was bigger than my usual food, more labrador sized perhaps!

As you can see from the photos below it was difficult to get photographs because Lexi (chocolate) and Roxi (yellow) were more interested in getting a bonus snack than posing nicely which is ultimately a good thing for this review as they were obviously attracted to the smell.

The Science Diet Adult Advanced Fitness Dog Food certainly has been enjoyed by my dogs, they heartily wolf it down without hesitation. It also makes great treats for taking out with me on walks as the chunky kibble bits are a perfect size.

Lexi and Roxi award the Science Diet Adult Advanced Fitness Dog Food 5 out of 5 stars.
