Review: T2 Sticky Honey Chai

T2 Sticky Honey Chai Tea

There is just something lovely about curling up under a blanket to watch a movie in the evening with a nice cup of tea to keep you warm. I have always enjoyed trying out new types of tea so I was excited to come home from a recent shopping trip with a packet of Sticky Honey Chai from T2 to try.

Originating in India chai is a flavoured tea made by brewing black tea with a mixture of spices and herbs. The Sticky Honey Chai is a special blend incorporating black tea, sticky-sweet honey, cinnamon, cardamon, cloves, natural vanilla flavouring, ginger and salt for an aromatic and soothing experience with rich notes of cinnamon and vanilla. I have to admit that the aroma reminds me of a spiced custard.

To brew the perfect cup simply cake 2 teaspoons of the wet chai mix (it comes in a handy airtight pouch so you can seal it after use and keep it fresh), place in a saucepan of 250ml of milk (I use soy milk but you can use any dairy or non-dairy option) and heat. Be sure to stir it as it heats up to stop the milk from sticking to the bottom of your pan! Once to your chosen temperature strain the mixture into a cup and enjoy! If you prefer a lighter drink you can use a water/milk mix.

Along with the tea I purchased a dainty and practical infuser which makes straining the tea super easy and I also treated myself to a beautiful oversized glass tea mug from which to enjoy my chai. I am even considering getting a fancy chai pot in which to heat the milk to save my saucepans.

I have been loving the Sticky Honey Chai from T2 with its comforting spices making me feel snuggly and warm on an otherwise cold and dreary autumn evening. It is obviously a quality product. I award the T2 Sticky Honey Chai 5 out of 5 stars and look forward to growing my chai collection!
