Review: Trespass Tensing, Women’s High Rise Hiking Shoes
When you have a dog there are a few things you need to accept, such as having to go for walks every day to keep your pooch happy and healthy. Here in Kent we have some fantastic countryside walks including woodlands, riverside paths, public parks and dog-friendly beaches which can be explored with your canine pal.
Of course, you need to be prepared for the terrain including proper footwear. When my year old walking boots gave up the ghost recently after getting pretty soggy and sandy on Folkstone beach, I had to look for alternatives and luckily my mother had a spare pair of Trespass walking boots which she has loaned out to me.
The Trespass Tensing women’s high rise hiking shoes have been designed to take on everything you would expect to find on a hike (or dog walk!), they are a mid cut boot made from a waterproof and breathable material. They feature a gusseted tongue and waterproof pu/textile fabric and lining so your feet always will feel comfortable and protected from the elements.
It is important to me that my walking boots be stable and protective of my ankles as I have damaged them in the past. The Trespass Tensing boots have an outsole moulded from eva/phylon rubber which provides extra stabilities as well as arch stabilising and a supportive steel shank. I do not feel worried that I will twist or sprain my ankle when I am wearing these boots even in wet, slippery conditions.
Of course, as well as being stable walking boots should be comfortable! These have a cushioned and contoured footbed which keeps my feet snug and happy whilst out in the great outdoors. I really like the elasticated laces which make the boots easy to do up comfortably and prevent laces snapping when being pulled tight (I have broken laces twice doing that!). Finally, I really like how the boots look with an attractive blue and grey colour scheme.
So far the Trespass Tensing women’s high rise hiking shoes have put up with daily walks in the countryside well, managing a range of different terrains and weather conditions. I am happy to award them 5 out of 5 stars.
