Review: Wellies from Butterfly Twists
As an avid dog walker, I have to have good footwear when I am heading out the door to the local park or woods, especially when the weather takes a turn for the worse towards Winter. The walking boots I have been using for the best part of a year were starting to look somewhat under the weather so I decided to look for an alternative to keep my feet happy over the colder months.
I spotted an advert on Facebook for 50% off wellington boots from Butterfly Twists and it got me thinking that I had always worn hiking boots for walking the dog and never tried wellies as an alternative. A few days later I gave in and purchased myself a pair of their Eton wellington boots which are ankle height.
The Eton wellies are described as bold, bright and beautiful coming in a shorter style than their knee-high wellies for a lightweight option. There are three colour options: black & white, grey & watercolour mint and black & grey, I chose the latter which comes with stylish grey removable knitted cuffs for versatility and easy maintenance.
The Butterfly Twists wellies come with a number of features to keep feet happy and healthy including a memory foam insole which gives them a bit of a squidge underfoot and an extra cushion at the heel making them very comfortable to wear. They also have a breathable lining to keep feet fresh and a 100% rubber outsole to protect feet.
I have to admit I wasn’t sure that they would be comfortable to wear every day, twice a day, for dog walking but I am happy to report I have found them to be perfectly comfortable with no awkward of painful pinching or rubbing. I love their look with their knitted cuffs adding something a bit extra to the style and ensuring that my calves don’t get rubbed by the top of the boots.
I have to admit that I am used to having hiking boots which have thicker soles to them and sometimes I can feel stones through the bottom of the wellies, however, this hasn’t been bad enough to put me off wearing them. A big bonus to wearing these wellies is when they get muddy I can just wash them off, unlike hiking boots!
Overall I have been impressed with the style and substance of the Eton wellington boots from Butterfly Twists and will continue to wear them on our countryside dog walks throughout the winter months. I award them 5 out of 5 stars and recommend them to anyone looking for a quality wellington boot.
